Trip to Tracy and Tankut's

We (Amy, Betty Jo, Frank, Calvin, and Isaac) made the trip to Springfield, IL to visit Tracy, Tankut, and Bailey (the new puppy). 13 hours after we left Atlanta, we finally arrived at the Onal residence. We spent 4 days taking walks, visiting the zoo, swimming in the pool, and enjoying the cool weather every morning and evening. Here are some of the highlights.

Camping in Cloudland Canyon

Last weekend we went with some friends to Cloudland Canyon. The weather was cooler than we expected but we had a good time. Our trip included a hike up to Rocktown where Calvin, and Benji had a great time climbing over all of the rocks.

Cruise on Lake Geneva

This was our favorite outing. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the water. Lake Geneva is beautiful and clear. We did not test the waters but I am sure they are very cold. The lake is fed by melting snow from the Alps and narrows into the Rhone River.

Geneva, Switzerland Day 1 and 2

Clint and I arrived in Geneva on July 4th at 2:00PM local time. The train from the airport stopped directly in front of our hotel after only a 6 minute ride. We were sleep deprived but managed to stay awake until 8 PM local time. Sunday morning we woke up so late that we missed breakfast and had to walk (very quickly, I might add) across the bridge to the old town. Worship was held in the beautiful cathedral of St. Pierre, the adopted home church of the reformer John Calvin in the mid- 1500's during his exile from France. John Calvin pastored the congregation of St. Pierre in Geneva and preached his sermons in the very room where we were worshiping. After church we went to Lake Geneva to enjoy the view.
