Fun in the Sun

Saturday we were invited to a pool party given by some of Clint's friends from work. Calvin had a great time! He borrowed this life vest and swam around the pool deep end and all - he loved it!

Breakfast...

I thought it was just teenage boys who ate one out of house and home...but our 3 year old is trying his best already. This is what Calvin ate for breakfast this morning :)

Playtime

Isaac found his feet...

I forgot how adorable it is when babies start looking at their feet and grabbing for them. Isaac has discovered his feet and is always reaching for them.

Isaac's Baptism

We baptized our baby boy on Sunday. What a blessing to be part of a church that loves and cares for children so much. These are the vows we took, as well as one the congregation took.

1) Do you renounce the devil and all his work, the empty show and false values of this world, and the sinful desires of the flesh, so that you will not follow nor be led by them?

2) Do you acknowledge your child's need of the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ, and the renewing of the Holy Spirit?

3) Do you claim God's covenant promises on his behalf, and do you look in faith to the Lord Jesus Christ for his salvation, as you do for your own?

4) Do you now unreservedly dedicate your child to God, and promise in humble reliance upon His grace, that you will endeavor to set before him a godly example, that you will pray with him and for him, that you will teach him the truths of the Christian faith, and that you will strive, by all means of God's appointment, to bring him up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord?

5) Do you as a congregation undertake the responsibility of assisting the parents in the Christian nurture of this child?

First Day of Preschool

Calvin had his first day of preschool today. He was such a big boy getting out in the carpool line with the teacher and going to his class. Here he is with his bag, all ready for school.

Happy Birthday Calvin!

Our "big boy" is 3 now! We had a great time with family and friends at his party on Saturday. At Calvin's request we had a Firetruck theme. Baby Isaac spent the party being held, looking cute in his party hat, and perfecting the art of sucking his thumb :)

Thanks Uncle Herb!

Uncle Herb wanted Calvin to choose a gift for his birthday - this is what he choose. He such a little man :) Look at that serious face while he is playing. Mommy was happy with this too because it doesn't make a loud annoying noise. He is so cute while he is strumming and singing along with his made up songs.

Going to the Dentist

Calvin had a dentist appointment today. He did a great job! He was perfectly calm and followed directions very well. He was even allowed to hold (read - play with) the water sprayer and the suction hose. After he was all done the dentist came in to check his teeth. He was wearing these strange magnifying glasses and Calvin of course asked to try them on - isn't he handsome? :)

Looking Glass

Isaac is very interested in that baby in the mirror. He will lay on his play mat and smile at himself for a good half an hour. What a cutie!
