Boppy

Our little guy loves to sleep on this Boppy pillow. I can put him down almost anywhere and he will just keep right on sleeping.

Calvin and Isaac

I just love these shots of Calvin and Isaac together. Calvin really loves his baby brother and is so gentle with him. Calvin usually wants to give Isaac his paci and always wants to help by getting me a diaper or a wipe. Calvin also asks Isaac when he is crying, "What is the matter?" They are too cute together.

Just Hanging Out

Out little guy is pretty mellow most of the time. Here is a shot of him laying in his Pack-N-Play. Isaac only cries when he needs something, but the hiccups make him mad. Swaddling during the mad spells is magic -literally 5 seconds after he is swaddled he is calm and usually asleep.

My Three Guys

Quality Time

It is strange how quality time seems to come about. This morning Calvin was up and ate breakfast with Clint. I got up a bit later with Isaac and came downstairs to eat. Isaac decided he wanted to eat right then too so I sat at the table to feed him and also try to eat my food. Calvin came in the dining room with his cars and sat at the table playing and discussing "car" things with me. He loves to pretend, and asked me to give him some groceries to put in the back of the little green pickup truck. So I pretended to hand him groceries, naming the things we usually buy and he pretended to load the truck and drive it home.

Sleeping Baby

I don't know what else is as peaceful or heartwarming as a sleeping baby.

Tummy Time

We have started putting Isaac down for some tummy time on his playmat. He sat with his head up like this long enough for me to take at least 6 or 7 pictures. The effort wears him out though - he took a nap on the play mat after tummy time was over today.

Growing Up

Calvin is growing up. Every day it seems that he is more of a little boy and less of a toddler. I am still amazed at his motor skills and how much they have changed in just the last 6 months. Here are some funny shots of our "little boy."

One Week Old

Isaac is one week old today. He is doing very well, a good little eater! He sleeps like a champ too but still has some of his wake-time from midnight to 2 AM. Oh well - that just gives me time to post here.

Story Time

Tonight we had story time all together in the living room. Calvin brought down Goodnight Moon and we read it to Isaac.

Loving Big Brother

Calvin is adjusting very well to being a big brother. He likes to help out with baby Isaac and to hold him, sometimes :) Here is Clint's favorite shot with Calvin patting Isaac on the head, and another one from today where Isaac was crying and Calvin held his hand and made the shhhh noise to help calm him - it worked! Now that I have two little boys to love, these moments are some of the sweetest. I can just imagine how Isaac will look up to his big brother and want to do what is "big" brother is doing. I pray that they will be the best of friends and stick by each other always.

Baby Spunky

Aunt Tracy gave Calvin a Gund puppy when he was born. He loves his puppy, Spunky, very much. Yesterday Aunt Tracy came home with a baby Spunky for him to love. We are calling the puppies big brother and baby brother Spunky. Precious!

Daddy and Sons

This is one of my favorite pictures so far - Clint holding both of our sons.

Visitors

Mia and Pop are here for the week to visit and get to know baby Isaac. We are so thankful to have them here to help. Calvin loves having them here. So far this week Calvin has been to the playground with Pop and out to eat with Pop and Daddy while Mommy was still in the hospital. Aunt Tracy came to visit today and help out for a while.

Calvin the Big Brother

Calvin came to meet Isaac on Thursday evening and immediately said "my baby brother!" He was thrilled to meet baby Isaac.

He has arrived!

Little Isaac arrived very quickly on Wednesday night April 16th, 2008. Mommy had contractions on and off on Tuesday and Wednesday but not enough to leave for the hospital. Mommy's water broke at 7:30 PM on Wednesday and we jumped in the car to go to the hospital. It's a good thing we did! When we arrived at the hospital Mommy was 5 to 6cm and 10 minutes later she was 8cm. The nurse called for a set up but Isaac made his appearance with no set up and no midwife. Our wonderful nurse Cheryl delivered him after 1 push. All in all we were at the hospital for 45 minutes before Isaac arrived at 9:01 PM.
