Smile!

Here it is, Isaac's first smile on camera! We have been getting these smiles for days now but have not been willing to miss the smiles to get the camera. Daddy got this one while Mommy was waiting, ready with the camera.

Gardening with Mia

Mia is so thoughtful. One day Mia came home with two flowers for Calvin to plant, and a yellow rosebush for me (my favorite). Mia knew just what Calvin would love, digging in the dirt. Calvin and Mia spent some time early one morning outside planting the flowers and watering them. Look at those tiny gardening gloves! Calvin is so excited to water the plants now, he says they are "thirsty." This little watering can has moved with us all the way from our first apartment in Tampa in 1999.

Fun at the Park

While Daddy was in Vegas, Mia came to stay with us. One day we had an outing to the park. Calvin had a great time "hiking" in the woods, pointing out all the leaves, plants, and baby pine cones. The cute comment of the day was, "These are baby pine cones, they cry a lot."

One Month Old

Saturday, Daddy got the first awake smile from our little Isaac. He is getting to know our faces and voices and it shows. Our little one is already a month old. At his 1 month checkup he was a whopping 8 lbs, 11 ozs. That adds up to 21 ozs gained in just 17 days since his last appointment!

Brotherly Love

Calvin got down on the playmat with Isaac this afternoon and started "playing" with him. Isaac was watching Calvin's antics and even obliged by holding on to Calvin's thumb. Calvin was thrilled and squealed, "He is holding on to my hand!" So sweet to see them already getting to know each other.

New Expressions

These baby expressions just make me smile. I am still waiting to catch his newly acquired skill of smiling at Daddy on camera. Be sure to check out all of the other Isaac expressions in the slide show titled "1 month old."

Bouncy Chair

We pulled out the bouncy chair yesterday and sat Isaac in it for the first time. I don't think he is too sure about it :)

Karate Kid

This morning Calvin found my headband and put it on like a sweatband. I caught him downstairs "exercising" and looking ever so much like the Karate Kid, serious face and all!

Doctor Calvin

Calvin received a Fisher Price medical kit yesterday - right away he started "doctoring" us all. Calvin holds the stethoscope to our hearts (or our knees) and says "Do you hear it? Ba-boom, Ba-boom, Ba-boom" Calvin also mentioned right away that Uncle Tankut wears a stethoscope around his neck at work and wanted to know all of the ways to wear it.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! We just want to say Happy Mother's Day to Mia and Nana. It has been good to see you both recently and we miss you already. Hope you had a great day today. Clint took this photo today after we returned from church - Isaac made his debut today on Mother's Day - how fitting.

Love,
Clint, Amy, Calvin, and Isaac

Brusters Ice Cream

As part of our Mommy time outing today we went for Brusters ice cream (our favorite). Calvin had a kiddie cone (it was gone before I could get a picture) and I had a lovely waffle cone with Chocolate Raspberry Truffle. This is the aftermath :) Chocolate ice cream all over his face, wearing his backpack, and bib. We had fun!

Fun at the Playground

I took Calvin to the playground today, just he and I, for some Mommy time. We had a good time wandering around and climbing on the playground. I can't believe how big Calvin is, or how well he can get up and down all of these playsets. He even climbed an 8 foot "rock" climbing wall today all the way to the top. My big boy is growing up.

Mother's Day Gift

This is my Mother's Day gift from Clint. He has said for a while that he thought I would look nice in a shirtdress. I was so surprised when he brought it down after lunch. It is nice to have surprises!

Baby Bathtime

Isaac has grown to love his bath. Sponge baths not so much, too cold, but he loves being in the water. I like this photo because it shows his new little belly. Our cutie is now 3 weeks old!

Daddy and Son

This afternoon Clint cut the grass. Calvin is not old enough yet to help but wanted to watch. From the moment Clint went outside, until he finished mowing, Calvin was watching with rapt attention out the window. Each time Clint would walk out of sight Calvin would say, "Where are you Daddy?" and then when he came back by he would say "There you are!" Our almost 3 year old who so wants to be like his Daddy.

Brothers

These are the moments I love! Many more to come.

Baby Gator

Clint's college roomate Kris and his family live just down the road and they came by the other day to meet Isaac. They brought gifts for Calvin and Isaac - matching Gator shirts. Now we have two "Baby Gators."

Sling Baby

Our Workman

A friend of ours gave Calvin a Little Tykes workbench complete with a saw, screw driver, hammer, wrench, nails, screws, the workbench that can be "fixed" and of course the safety goggles. Calvin wore these goggles all day on Friday and is saying that he is the "workman."

Nana and Grandpa

Nana and Grandpa arrived on Saturday afternoon. Calvin has had a good time with them, and Isaac has hardly been put down for a minute. This was the first time that Nana and Grandpa met Isaac.

Sleep

Sleep is good. Sometimes you just have to catch a little sleep whenever you can. The photo on the top is of Isaac and Mommy alseep on the couch. The one of the bottom is of Calvin and Mommy at Mia and Pop's.

Two Weeks Old

Two weeks old already. Isaac had his 2 week appointment on Tuesday. He is gaining well and is already up to 7lbs, 7 ozs from 6lbs, 14 ozs at one week. He is a good little eater and has even started sleeping longer at night. For the last two nights he ate around 9:30PM and fell asleep at about 11PM and slept until 3:30AM. Pretty good for two weeks old. Mommy is doing well withe the strange sleep schedule and just has to nap when Calvin naps in the afternoon.

Look at that hair - Uncle Clay style!
