Just a peek into some of our everyday conversations. I do admire his logic even if sometimes it leads to lengthy explanations and even more questions!

Yesterday morning I came upstairs after breakfast to find Calvin brushing Isaac's teeth. Isaac was cooperating and thought it was great. Calvin is really growing into a good little helper, and Isaac is learning to let Calvin help.

Isaac is moving into the "I do it" stage. I am surpised daily by what he really can do. Here he is washing his hands after going potty.

Mom's Tea

Calvin's pre school had a Mom's Tea yesterday. We had a lunch of tiny quiche, tiny sandwiches, and my favorite - chocolate covered strawberries. Calvin answered some fill in the blank questions about Mommy and here are his answers in bold.

My mom is 31 years old and has blue eyes and brown hair.

My mom is prettiest when she is wearing pink and red.

My mom likes to watch her little movie thing. (I found out later that this means Netflix streaming video)

My mom likes for me to help her to clean the dishes.

When I am nice, she gives me kisses and hugs.

I like it best when she cooks hot chocolate, and syrup oatmeal.

My mom thinks I am a silly pooh.

My mom's favorite colors are green and yellow.

My favorite thing about my mom is she is nice to me and takes care of me.

I had a lovely gift from Calvin at the end of the party. A tiny watering can with tiny purple flowers. Calvin painted the can and planted the flowers in the pot.

March Snow

We had snow again yesterday - at least 4 inches maybe 5. Most of it was gone by midday today. When I got home from work today Calvin and Isaac wanted to play in the snow for a few minutes. Here are some of the fun moments. The bottom two photos are actually short movies. Please press the triangle to play. The bottom movie is my favorite and involves giggling.

Isaac Speak

Our little one is learning new words every day and even more so learning to put words together. Here are some of my favorite words in Isaac speak.

"it funny" = I said or did something funny

"yes man" = yes ma'am

"ba-mana" = banana

"are you?"= where are you?

"bobby" = potty

"moon" = spoon

"peas help you" = please help me

"did it" = I did it by myself

"bilk" = milk

Reading

I have recently begun reading out loud to Calvin the Chronicles of Narnia, and also many Bible stories straight from the source. Calvin loves sitting with me and listening to the tales unfold. He is at the age now where he can (if he wishes) listen and remember his questions until I reach an appropriate stopping place. We are about half-way thru The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. This morning while I was making breakfast, Calvin was reading to Isaac. Fred and Ted Go Camping, by Peter Eastman.
